abstract

Driven by the organic textures of daily life and the expression of flow through ink and brush, my abstract project explores the human body as a living canvas.

By weaving textural elements into each design, I seek to emphasize and empower the body’s inherent beauty, revealing forms that resonate in harmony with, and reflect, the uniqueness of each individual’s personality.

Calligraphy

Calligraphy is an art that is easy to learn yet difficult to master. To me, it is both the most abstract and the most tangible form of expression.

Chinese characters themselves are vessels of meaning, while the endless variations of brushstrokes and lines become more than surface texture, they embody emotion.

When calligraphy is transformed into tattoo, it becomes a fusion of word (the outer form) and story (the inner essence), where the beauty of brushstrokes merges seamlessly with the natural lines of the human body, creating a singular and enduring mark.

INK painting

The philosophy of ink painting has always been at the core of my practice, focus on the pursuit of inner expression. Painting, to me, is a reflection of the shifting states of the mind, an act of lending emotion through objects.

The noble virtues embodied by plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum remain subjects I return to time and again, while butterflies, insects, birds, and flowers also carry layers of rich symbolism. Through tattoo as a medium, I hope to offer a way for people to channel these meanings, allowing their inner feelings and states of mind to be inscribed upon the skin as a lasting expression.

始終是我反覆探討的題材;

Oranamental

The ornamental totemic designs I create emerged from my study of seal carving, evolving out of the forms of ancient seal script. Seal script can be traced back to oracle bone inscriptions, where the structure of pictographic characters resonates with the arrangement of decorative motifs.

While emphasizing ornamental form, I preserve the underlying meaning of the characters, allowing each design to harmonize naturally with different parts of the body.

Seal to skin

Seal to Skin is a series that evolved from my study of seal carving. A seal is a highly symbolic object, each impression represents an identity, and through it,

one can sense the person behind it.

These seals carry the stories of individuals, partners, and families. I insist that every seal be hand-carved,

for the warmth of the hand is irreplaceable; the texture captured in each impression mirrors the uniqueness of every story it embodies.

Seal to Skin」

因為手的溫度無可取代;
